Celebrating Brain Awareness Week
On the third week of March in 2015, join your local hospital and other community organizations in celebrating Brain Awareness Week! Brain Awareness Week is a global initiative to raise awareness about the important field of neuroscience and to lobby for ongoing science funding to provide for future advancements.
Although Brain Awareness Week is celebrated during the third week of March, you can find related events throughout the year. Or, consider hosting your own awareness activity. For example, you might seek to introduce the next generation of scientists to the marvels of the brain by creating a workshop for high school students or organizing a brain-related essay contest for younger students. For adults, good ideas for brain awareness activities include setting up interactive exhibits at local hospitals, coordinating a series of lectures, or holding lab tours at nearby research facilities.
Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center of Las Vegas is pleased to offer the region’s only dedicated neurosciences center. The Nevada Neurosciences Institute provides comprehensive care for individuals, including stroke care . For a physician referral at our hospital, call (702) 233-5300.
